I can't believe it's already mid-October. This year has flown by for me. We spent the last 4 months waiting for a summer that never really got here, although that never stopped my honey from heading off every weekend day for a few hours of fishing. He's been on the hunt for catfish and I've heard a LOT of stories about the one that got away but haven't seen any fish on my plate for supper. If we depended on him to eat we'd be quite thin by now! Don't know if there will be many/any more days for him to get those elusive fish since the weather is starting to get pretty chilly. Guess he'll have to switch over to his other love - football. Go Patriots! I can't win, I'm a fishing AND football widow.
I've become a Facebook addict and spend WAY too much time fooling around there and playing many of the game apps....Mafia Wars, Pirates, Yoville, Robin Hood, Roller coaster Kingdom, Farmville, Farm Town. I have cafe's, aquariums and - obviously - too much free time! LOL After months of being #1 of all my Bejeweled Blitz friends I've lost my touch and am lucky to be in the top 5 each week. Damn my son for ever talking me into setting up an account!! I need a personal secretary just to keep track of when it's time to get my buns out of the oven in YoVille, harvest my crops, cook food in my cafe. OMG, writing this all down makes me look like a lunatic!!!
I've started Christmas shopping and am on the hunt for deals, deals and more deals. No one in my family will ever give me a wish list so I'm on my own to figure out what to get. I do the best I can and haven't ever gotten any real awful gifts for anyone as far as I know.
That's it for me today - off to tend to my farms. LOL

Not much of a blogger, am I?
It isn't that I have nothing to say....I usually have plenty to offer. I think I'm getting old and forgetting I've got a blog LOL
It's officially Fall here in the Midwest. We never really got much of a summer this year. I'm not complaining, exactly, but there were only a handful of days that I thought were warm enough to warrant a trip to the pool. Conversely, if it had been hotter than heck I would be complaining about that. When it comes to weather, I think I'm just never happy. Much as I'm not fond of the cooler temps during the day, I love them at night where I can snuggle in with my honey and have an excellent sleep.

Did I snooze through summer?
Here it is, nearly the middle of June, and there has hardly been a day where the temps hit 80. All we've seen is wind, rain, dreariness and not a whole lot of sunshine! What the heck is going on with the weather?
I'm tired of this economy. My Honey hasn't been working full weeks for months, been home on Fridays. Last month it looked like things were going to pick up on his job, he actually worked two full weeks but then - BAM - cut back to four days. This week, we made plans for Friday and, you guessed it, he has to work. Frustrating, on one hand but welcome on the other.
Going to a graduation party on Saturday. I can hardly believe my friend's daughter not only just turned 18 but graduated last week. It seems like only months ago I was holding her little newborn self in my arms. Cliche to say, but time flies....it really does.
I'm spending way too much time playing games on Facebook! My son hooked me into Mafia Wars and Pirates and a friend got me into Farm Town. Then, of course, I play Bejeweled Blitz and Farkle. I think I'm nuts.

Mother Nature gave us an early April Fools gift yesterday, 2 inches of snow. Just when I thought Spring was here.........arghhhh! Just proves Midwest living is always interesting.

Rain, snow, cold UGH!
We're getting it all today, phooey!
We've become addicted to Guitar Hero World Tour here at our house, is that too strange for a 50+ woman and man to have such a good time with a video game? I may never get off the easy level but I'm having a blast on the guitar. I haven't tried the drums yet but I plan to soon.
Been playing Mafia Wars on Facebook, my don name is Bad Barbie V. I only have two other people on my crew right now but I'm still new to Facebook and don't have a lot of friends yet.
I'm thinking beautiful spring thoughts, ya think it will make the weather change?? Nah, probably not but I can dream.

Hmmm, not much on follow up LOL
Here it is two months later and I'm just coming back to post. I wish I could say I was so busy I didn't have time, not true - I think I'm just lazy.
It's the time of year when I think winter will never be over, I'm tired of snow and cold and dreary days. This has been one the worst winters I can imagine, snow on the ground for days on end, arctic temperatures. I'm trying to hold on and think spring!
Our pup, affectionately called Rowdy Roo, is 10 months old. He surprised us by turning out to love the snow, hops around in it like a little bunny. He loves to climb the highest snowbank he can find and then leap into the snow. Crazy dog! Our previous dog, Pepper, was such a diva that if she put a paw out and discovered wet or snow she would do an immediate about face and go back inside.
See you again in a couple of months LOL
